These are the ruins at Ephesus. All I can say is 'wow.'  It was my first time seeing such a thing. I grew up watching The Ten Commandments, The Robe, Ben Hur, Spartacus, Hercules, and every Roman movie made.  I didn't understand it then, and probably still do not yet today, however, some of the words and names sound familiar. Now I wished I had paid attention in history class.

'Meze' is "to taste,"  meaning to keep tasting, like eating pupus----we went to a carpet making place that also was an educational center that grew their own grapes for wine and olives for their own oil.   We had lunch outdoors, they brought in a chef from Istanbul, Gencay Ucok, to prepare the mezes.  Tzatziki (we learned the correct pronunciation, at least in Turkey, that is)  eggplant, roasted peppers, crudo, and what looks like potato salad is actually made from local cheese-----very ono.
