We're in NYC for the Lucky Rice Festival. In part it is to help promote Hawaiian Airlines' soon-to-be-happening non-stop flight between Hawaii and JFK in June sometime. A lot of folks from Hawaii living in NYC attended. It reminded me of my time in NYC when I would remember that every May 1st is May Day or Lei Day in Hawaii. The Hawaii contingency got together in Central Park, pot-luck style. For the guests, I think it was nice to see some folks from Hawaii, eat familiar foods (like poke), and talk story.
