This is pasta pomodoro----a simple spaghetti with a tomato sauce.  In Burano, an island off the main Venice, we had this and some pizza. Now, I can say I had these in the country of origin. This will be my point of reference from now on until I see and taste another one that is better. Michelle, our pastry chef, also had tiramisu and gelato---her points of reference for palate memories-----simple dishes, but still important to know and understand why.
