This is from a visit to Wailea Ag. on the Ha.akua Coast on the Big Island. In the background, you can see what looks like a green mango, but it is actually nutmeg. In Michelle's hand is the nutmeg - cracked, revealing a red mace wrapped around the nutmeg seed. You peel the mace off and crack the nutmeg seed to get the spice on the inside. I knew they grew that there, which is why it's important to get back on the farm to remind yourself of what is there for you. All we have to do is just ask and we get to work with it--------there is a moral in that for all things-------you know it's there, we need to ask for it, or will it, and it manifests, then we work it and get back to the basics - as basic as working with nutmeg. We reconnected with curry leaves, fresh cloves, fresh cinammon, with chewing on steams of leaves that reminded you of eating cinammon candy---and it's all there for the picking.
